Design a solution for running enthusiasts in your country


Context

  1. Buying shoes online is a tedious process. Size charts differ from brand to brand, product line to product line and country to country.

  2. People have a wide variety of orthopaedical needs (extra wide feet, flat feet, etc), functional as well as aesthetic requirements when buying shoes.

  3. Running enthusiasts tend to replace their running shoes every 500 to 700km minimum. This creates a steady demand for new, better shoes.

  4. Whilst running and feet analysis is available in many stores, staff are not always properly trained or might need to hit sales targets for a specific brand. A digital solution might be able to help.

Process

Step 1: Understand the problem

I spent some time to understand the product first, and the different elements to consider before buying the perfect pair.

Step 2: Understand the users

A survey was taken to better understand the behaviour and the habits of local running enthusiasts.

Step 3: Deep dive to learn more

A local running enthusiast is interviewed to understand more of his buying behaviour.

Step 4: A look into the competitors

I studied the practices of other competitors to look into their solutions.

Step 5: Drafting the solution

With the findings of various researches, the insights are taken to formulate a solution.
